DES MOINES, Iowa -- The state of Iowa has signed a new long-term contract with Iowa Interactive to manage its official government portal (www.Iowa.gov). The contract includes an initial five-year term and renewal options that run through March 2012. Des Moines-based Iowa Interactive is a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC (Nasdaq:EGOV).
Iowa Interactive signed its original multiyear contract with the state of Iowa in November 1997. After fulfilling the original contract term, the state issued a competitive bid for eGovernment portal services in November 2005.
