Apr. 13--It's show time, jelly bean. More than 16 billion jelly beans are produced for Easter, enough to fill a plastic Easter egg nine stories tall. And they're not all classic Brach's anymore. Candy brands from LifeSavers to Jolly Rancher have gotten into the bean business.
"Consumers love finding their favorite candies in other forms," says Susan Fussell, spokeswoman for the National Confectioners Association.
