London - New research from independent market analyst Datamonitor* (DTM.L) suggests that the six leading energy utilities in the UK will remain under pressure to raise retail gas and power prices throughout the remainder of 2006 and parts of 2007. However, the pressure to do so will vary widely between individual utilities depending upon their structural positions. Despite this, further retail price rises during this year remain very much an inevitability rather than a possibility.
