Lesbians with physical disabilities: a qualitative study of their experiences with counseling.

In a survey of 1,925 lesbians who responded to the National Lesbian Health Care Survey, Bradford, Ryan, and Rothblum (1994) found that 73% of the respondents had seen or were currently seeing a mental health counselor at the time they completed the survey. Although a similar study has not been conducted about women with physical disabilities, it seems likely that they will be seen by counselors as a result of their need for rehabilitation services.
