WHEN IRENE MARIE, PRESIDENT OF Miami Beach-based talent management company Irene Marie Management Group, bought her office on Ocean Drive 17 years ago, she says apartments in the building rented for $500 a month. Hotels in just-developing South Beach drew print advertising campaigns from the north with cheap room rates, Art Deco backdrops and proximity to the ocean. It was what Miami Beach film and production manager Graham Winick calls "an in-awe destination," an up-and-coming location for the entertainment and fashion industries.
