Apr. 17--Helen Bolger spent much of her life building a horse stable business near Wheaton, and the rest of it battling DuPage County for possession of it. Mrs. Bolger, 82, died Thursday, April 6, of complications related to emphysema in Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, her family said. "She was a Barbara Stanwyck," said a daughter, Bridget. "She was beautiful and she was strong. She was a throwback to that era of the strong, beautiful woman, that generation from World War II."
Mrs. Bolger was raised on a 200-acre farm in the tiny central Illinois village of Bellflower, near Bloomington. She was the youngest of 11 ...
