The average American family won't pay a dime in tuition to send a student to Harvard University next year.
It's a move being lauded by some of Central New York's priciest institutions, where officials say they, too, have programs to help make higher education more accessible to lower-income families.
Harvard officials recently announced they will no longer charge tuition to families earning less than $60,000 a year, an increase from the 2004 tuition amnesty plan for families making less than $40,000.
