Apr. 19--Baseball fans might be willing to convict Barry Bonds based on his suspicious late-in-life power surge and increasing hat size, but federal prosecutors will need more to convict him of perjury.
A federal grand jury in San Francisco is investigating whether Bonds committed perjury when he testified before a different grand jury investigating the BALCO steroids case. Bonds, who testified in 2003, allegedly told prosecutors that he never knowingly used steroids.
