The words snack and meal may become synonymous this year as consumers increasingly garner new occasions for snacking, according to Future Food Trends report by TECHNOMIC. Leading occasions for partaking in a snack, treat and/or refreshment remain to be while driving and while at work.
Those who snack heavily consume foods 4.9 times per day, not counting liquid intake and some people often get trapped into snacking on special treats frequently appearing in office pantries. For example, nuts for snacking are a $6 billion per year industry. The following are a sampling of notable snack trends for 2006.
