Worldwide production in 2006 is forecasted at 31.8 million metric tons, up 7% from 2005. Production in the AMITOM countries is forecast to decrease 9% to 11.9 million metric tons, while production in China is forecast to increase 59% to 4.4 million metric tons, according to Tomato News.
