We had a crisis the other morning at the UW's "Shell."
That's the old indoor recreation building next to Camp Randall where a group of us gather early in the morning and go through the motions of working out, some with better results than others.
One of our crew, Greg Radcliffe, who actually is in good shape, slammed his car door on his finger, and the pain emanating from beneath his purple fingernail was obviously nothing short of excruciating.
We all huddled around with our different prognoses. I figured Greg had about six months to live.
