NEW YORK -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) today announced the renewal of the AIG Homers For Kids program with the New York Mets for the 2006 season. The AIG Homers for Kids program benefits a number of New York-based youth charities. For every home run the New York Mets hit at Shea Stadium in 2006, AIG will donate $250 to a designated youth charity.
AIG will select a new charity for each of the Mets' 21 home series. During the Mets' season-opening home series against the Washington Nationals, AIG contributed $1,250 to the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund, Inc., which was established by former Met Daniel "Rusty" Staub in 1985. ...
