The Fall of Jericho

A crimson cord appeared in Rahab's window
The cursed city stood unassailable as a skull
And the troops that crossed the suddenly dried-up backbone
of the river
Now stood in terror before the city unassailable as a skull
In the scorched valley
Where a crimson cord flashed in Rahab's window.

It was the time of Passover
Just the time of the wheat harvest
Pale grain flamed at the foot of the cliffs
In the scorched valley
And the people silently stood in terror before the walls of the
seven-headed city
On the plain
At the foot of the bright sandstone cliffs.
