Inaccurate or misleading headlines and reporting about the recent National Institutes of Health panel on cesarean delivery for maternal request will exacerbate the harm unnecessary surgery causes women, Tim Clarke, associate director of communications for the American College of Nurse-Midwives, told LNN.
Coverage of the findings by several major media organizations--including The Washington Post, NBC's Today and Nightly News programs, and others --presented women with a distorted view of the National Institute of Health's State of the Science Findings, released March 29, ACNM said.
