Head Start grantees are seeking access to the discounted Internet access service known as E-Rate for agencies that operate the federal preschool program.
The National Head Start Association is asking that local Head Start agencies gain access to the E-Rate, or discounts on telecommunications and Internet access that are now available to most schools and libraries. Head Start programs already are eligible if their state includes pre-K education within its legal definition of elementary education, according to NHSA.
But NHSA wants the Federal Communications Commission to change eligibility rules so all Head Start programs can qualify, regardless of their state's ...
