Head start grantees seek discounts for Internet access under 'E-Rate'.

Head Start grantees are seeking access to the discounted Internet access service known as E-Rate for agencies that operate the federal preschool program.

The National Head Start Association is asking that local Head Start agencies gain access to the E-Rate, or discounts on telecommunications and Internet access that are now available to most schools and libraries. Head Start programs already are eligible if their state includes pre-K education within its legal definition of elementary education, according to NHSA.
