It has been known for some time that the sun can potentially provide our planet with a seemingly limitless supply of energy that can accomplish many of the tasks now given to fossil fuel energy. Popularly, solar energy means electricity generated from sunlight-still an expensive commodity.

Less well known are heating solutions. One in particular-generating hot water from the sun's radiation as opposed to electrically heating-has begun to take root in Latin America on a large scale.
