Huawei still competes for BSNL deal despite difficulties
Shanghai. April 21. INTERFAX-CHINA - Despite policy carriers and intensified competition, Huawei Technologies, China's largest telecom equipment maker, is still making every effort to compete for a major GSM project in India, where mobile communication will experience rapid growth over the next few years.
Due to security concerns by the Indian government and delays in setting up local production facilities, Huawei has experienced difficulties in bidding for a multi-billion dollar deal from State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), India's largest telecom carrier.
