SAN JOSE, Calif. _ President Bush _ flanked by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers _ spoke with Silicon Valley and education leaders in a forum focused on training a more skilled workforce.
While protesters chanted several blocks away, the panel spent about an hour talking about how to encourage U.S. students to pursue careers in science, math and engineering.
Bush spoke forcefully about the need for the U.S. to remain competitive and touted his plans for spending more money on research, education and more training of science and math teachers.
