Apr. 22--HARVEYS LAKE -- A fire destroyed a vacant house and a neighbor's pickup Friday afternoon off state Route 415. Police said the small, one-story building at the rear of 137 Noxen Road was being used for storage and was vacant when the blaze started at around 4 p.m. Friday. The rear siding of the white, two-story residence at the front of the property was twisted and melted from the heat. A junk car parked next to the building was also consumed by the flames. Gary Hoover, 53, who lives next door, stared at the charred remains of his 2004 Dodge Dakota truck, which had been parked about 20 feet from the burning house. The truck ...
