Apr. 23--Roy Jackson has been in sports his whole life. He was a three-sport man as a freshman at Penn, and later worked in the Phillies' farm system, part of a life in professional baseball. His wife, Gretchen, met Roy at a dance in Merion when they were in the 11th grade. She grew up in Chestnut Hill, and remembers exactly how and when her lifelong love affair with horses began. She was 3 years old. "My father used to take me to the Philadelphia Zoo while my mother took my brother to church," she said.
