Article: Bookings up for hotel meeting rooms, managers say.

After a few years of somewhat dramatic decreases in business activity, 2005 saw a rebirth in the business hospitality industry fin hotels in Fairfield and Westchester counties, as meeting rooms were filled and an increase in conventions occurred. According to local hotel executives, the forecast for spring and beyond in 2006 is even better.

"I think the outlook is a little stronger than it was last year. We're definitely sitting a little stronger," said Clement Carey, general manager of the Holiday Inn in Mount Kisco, N.Y. "We have more bookings on the books this year than we did at this same time last year and the months ahead look as good as we have ever had."
