Apr. 24--Residents of San Ramon's fast-growing Dougherty Valley are a step closer to daily bus service linking them to the city's transit center, the Dublin BART station and the Shops at Bishop Ranch -- something viewed by some as a key to keeping many new residents mobile. The board of the County Connection, on which San Ramon City Councilman David Hudson sits as a member, on Thursday approved a transit plan to be funded by more than $2 million in developer fees and other sources.

The plan has long been sought by San Ramon leaders, who last year threatened to withdraw from County Connection unless Dougherty Valley service ...
