To the aviation community, glass cockpit refers to air-planes having TV-like screens at the controls rather than individual gauges displaying engine and navigation data. Automotive companies feature something similar in "information centers" that usually consist of a screen in the dashboard showing stereo display, GPS mapping, fuel consumption, air temperature, and heater/air conditioner controls. And now, finally, the boating industry is catching up to its aviation and automotive counterparts with its very own version of the glass dash.
