A thatched cottage once owned by Welsh artist Gwen John is on the market for the first time since her brother Augustus bought it for pounds 500.

Yew Tree Cottage, which nestles in Hampshire's New Forest and goes to auction later this week, has changed relatively little since Gwen occupied it in 1927 and still lacks running water in the kitchen.
