Apr. 25--Now that President Bush has proclaimed May to be Jewish American Heritage Month, South Florida leaders plan to help spread educational materials around the nation to raise awareness of Jewish contributions to U.S. history and culture.
Florida, which already celebrates the state's Jewish history each January, could become a model for nationwide festivities and school studies that are designed to give non-Jews a better understanding of the Jewish experience.
