Apr. 26--Brooks Gaston probably didn't become a vegetarian because of SPAM. Then again, growing up being fed the canned meat product doesn't seem to have helped, either.
"My mom used to make sandwiches with it, ketchup and SPAM," the 33-year-old Edinburg resident said. "I hated it. I thought it was disgusting."
Not everyone has the extreme reaction Gaston does to SPAM. In fact, SPAM is one of the best-selling and best-known grocery products in the world.
