Apr. 26--The Alamance-Burlington Board of Education put its budget request to county commissioners on the fast track this week.
Board members also said they were eager to meet with county commissioners before budget hearings begin.
The school board approved the superintendent's proposed budget with no changes at its meeting Monday night. The board will ask for $29 million to run the schools next year, about $2.6 million more than county commissioners provided for this year. The board is also asking for $1.1 million to put toward flooring, paving, painting, roof repair and other capital improvement projects.
