Apr. 27--The controversy over Whitehall Township's new executive reached the Lehigh County commissioners' chamber Wednesday night, with a commissioner raising the specter of legal action and the township executive calling the board "a bunch of hooligans."
Last month, Whitehall Commissioner Daniel McNeill was appointed township executive to replace Glenn Solt, who took a county post in January. It sparked a public outcry because the township charter bars such a move unless McNeill was off the board for a year. But no legal challenges are known to have been filed.
