Apr. 27--OCEANSIDE ---- Codifying a vision for future Oceanside development won't be cheap or quick, a consultant told the City Council on Wednesday evening.

John Bridges, a principal with national planning firm EDAW, said it could cost as much as $2.15 million and take as long as 2 1/2 years for the city to complete a proper master plan, a document that would articulate a broad vision for future development.

"I see a lot of opportunities here in Oceanside. It's no longer a small coastal city," said Bridges, who helped Oceanside with its El Corazon park plan in 1995-97.
