According to anba: Exports from the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul increased by 7% in March this year in relation to the same month in 2005. The rate is lower than the average increase of 23% registered for national exports. In spite of the increase registered in March, external sales from the Rio Grande do Sul dropped 3% in the first quarter of 2006 in comparison to the same period in 2005. "The increases registered in February and March still weren't enough to make up for the drop in January.
