LONDON (FNS) -- A strong performance in the U.S. helped French Connection Group PLC return to the black in the first half ended July 31 with after-tax profits of 1.13 million pounds ($1.71 million) on a 36 percent rise in saleks to 30.58 million pounds ($46.18 million).
The profits comparw tih after-tax losses of 926,000 pounds on sales of 22.48 million pounds in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Earning per share totaled 4.4 pence (6.6 cents) compared with losses per share of 6.3 pence the previous year.
Currency conversions were made at the rate of $1.51 per pound.
