BETI HOWE remembers a royal occasion at Coventry and BWarwickshire Hospital when nurses were interested in the Queen's fashion.
It was during a visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1941, when a group of nurses lined up to meet the Royal guest.
Beti - who is on the Queen's left in the the glasses in the picture above - and her colleagues can be seen checking the sort of stocking worn by the royal visitor.
Beti, nee Price and formerly Poynton, said: "I was 18 when the war broke out and I moved to Coventry to be closer to my aunt.
