Today, it is rare indeed to find a corporation or university which hasn't considered using hypermedia documents to "jazz up" its business presentations, training activities, or online documentation. All sorts of extravagant claims have been made about the ways hypermedia applications will revolutionize technical communication, tossing fuel on an already hot fire. Indeed, many managers and administrators are quite willing to admit that hypermedia documents are impressive, but they have nevertheless backed away from an investment in hypermedia technology.
