CHICAGO _ The Houston Texans weren't bluffing after all, signing North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams on Friday night and sending Saturday's NFL draft into a scramble for Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.
The stunning announcement ended months of speculation that the Southern California running back was too good for any team to pass up at the No. 1 spot. Now the No. 2 New Orleans Saints are expected to take Bush unless trade offers are too enticing to ignore.
