Army Community Recreation programs are now working towards national accreditation. The Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA)approved the Army Accreditation Standards after three pilot installations completed their accreditation. Those installations are:
* Ft. Monmouth, N.J.
* Ft. Leavenworth, Ks.
* Ft. Carson, Colo.
The Army standards are not much different than the municipal standards; the main difference is the military terminology. Accreditation provides an opportunity for military recreation programs to benchmark their operation against national standards used by municipal recreation. Benefits of ...
