Apr. 30--Thanks to a deal among TVA, a Florida development company and the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians, a $50 million resort will be announced Monday in Vonore.

The Sequoyah Lodge and Lake Resort will be built on 44 acres in phases, with the first step being a 200-slip marina scheduled to open in the spring of 2007.

As revenue comes in, developer Richard Gehring, project manager of Overhill Development of Dunedin, Fla., said the resort will include lake-view villas with four units each, cabins, three restaurants, a lakeside beach and swim center, a lodge, retail shopping and specialty boutiques, a campground, RV ...
