May 1--The public is invited to a meeting Tuesday to help initiate a recreational trail that would follow an old trolley route from Staunton to Benld.
The vision of the ITS Trail Committee is to create a system of connecting recreational trails that will allow users to safely interact with nature, enjoy outdoor exercise and preserve history.
The committee's initial goal is to develop a multi-use trail between Staunton and Benld and expand the system by connecting to other trails in the region.
The name "ITS Trail" refers to the Illinois Traction System, once a trolley network that ran through many Illinois ...
