The Associated Vintage Group (AVG), formally established in August, is a successor to Vinwood Cellars, established in 1987. Only AVG offers more than custom winemaking services.
Allan Hemphill, president, managing director and chief operating officer, said AVG had begun negotiating with the then-McDowell Valley Vineyards and Winery in April. At the August open house for the AVG facility, Hemphill pointed out some changes already made, such as the addition of a new Diemme press. He plans to double the storage capacity to one million gallons, good news for stainless steel tank manufacturers.
