To date the area has produced over 1,300 t of gold and there is still much life left
The world famous mining camp of Kalgoorlie has by now produced in excess of 42 Moz of gold, worth over $A20,000 million at today's prices. It remains very much a gold town and has been a centre upon which the development of many other Western Australian gold mines and fields have developed.
