Article: New Jersey Bell will limit channels in VDT test. (New Jersey Bell Telephone Co.'s video dial tone platforms)

WASHINGTON -- In response to regulators' and cable groups' concerns, New Jersey Bell told the Federal Communications Commission that it would initially limit the number of channels a single programmer can secure on its proposed video dial tone platforms in several New Jersey communities.

"|N~o single programmer/customer may purchase more than half of |the~ initial capacity," New Jersey Bell said in Sept. 2 filings to the commission. The filings are in response to the agency's request for more information on the company's VDT projects.

Interested parties may file comments on this proposal and other information supplied by the telephone company on Sept. 18.
