President Arroyo has ordered the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Navy (PN) to conduct a thorough investigation into the death of four Chinese fishermen in the vicinity of Spratly Islands.
Executive Secretary Ermita disclosed the President's directive during his regular weekly press conference at Malacanang.
Meanwhile, Malacanang expressed concern over the issuance by China of a note verbale to the Philippines for the alleged attack by Filipinos on a Chinese fishing boat in disputed areas of the South China Sea which resulted in the death of four of the vessel's crew.
