Can recipes from cookbooks really produce products that mimic retail brands? It's a close call, but our editor's backyard panel notches one for the pros.
While browsing through the local bookstore's cookbook section, I came across "Top Secret Recipes: Creating Kitchen Clones of America's Favorite Name Brand Foods," by Todd Wilbur.
Mr. Wilbur had spent long hours in his kitchen trying to duplicate favorite foods like the Burger King Whopper, Hostess Twinkie, KFC Fried Chicken, and...Sara Lee Cheesecake.
My curiosity piqued, I decided to bake the Sara Lee Original Cream Cheesecake clone recipe in the Top Secret book. Why bother to cook up ...
