FOUR companies that were selling small plots of agricultural land at very high prices, by suggesting that they might in the near future get planning permission for houses, are to be closed down by the Department of Trade and Industry.
In a bid by the Government to crack down on land investment companies that mislead the public, the DTI won a High Court case to hand United Land Holdings and three connected companies over to the Official Receiver. It will now prepare winding-up petitions against all four.
