FOUR YEARS AGO, when Aetna's Internal Audit Department reengineered its business practices, we made a commitment to utilize information technology as fully as possible. This decision was supported by the vision expressed in our new mission statement: "Internal Audit serves management and the Board of Directors by performing independent evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of the company's records . . .
