May 2--The 64-room Comfort Inn motel in Santa Maria was recently sold at a price that reflects solid appreciation, even though the final offer was just slightly below what the sellers were asking for.

Located at 210 S. Nicholson Drive, the three-diamond motel closed escrow at the beginning of the year for $5.37 million, according to county records.

The seller, Buellton Motel Co. LLC, was originally asking $5.5 million for the property that sits on 2.12 acres just south of Main Street.

In November 2003, Buellton Motel Co. purchased the property for $4.25 million, county records show, from Santa Maria Hospitality ...
