Cadbury eggs and Easter cards helped boost Walgreen Co.' s April sales by 13.1 percent from April 2005.
Sales in comparable stores, those open more than a year, rose 8.4 percent. Analysts said the result confirms their optimistic expectations for the company.
The Deerfield-based drugstore chain, the largest in the United States, benefited from a late Easter, which pushed most holiday sales from March to April.
