TRENTON, N.J. -- Journal Register Company (NYSE:JRC), announced today that Jean B. Clifton is resigning as President and Chief Operating Officer effective June 30, 2006, with the agreement of the Board of Directors. Ms. Clifton will also resign as a director of the Company effective the same date. Ms. Clifton has agreed to remain with the Company through June 30, 2006 to facilitate a smooth transition.
