SHOPPERS are enjoying the biggest bargain bonanza in a generation as Scotland's stores slash prices in a bid to boost sluggish trade.
New figures released yesterday show that a series of prolonged sales held by retailers have sent prices down to their lowest level for three years as traders gamble to lure customers in.
The latest Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) survey shows prices for non-food items have fallen by 1.5 per cent since January as shops try to counter the worst start to the year for a decade.
