Rockies first baseman Todd Helton was waiting in the on-deck circle with the bases loaded, score tied and one out in the bottom of the ninth. The perfect scenario for his return from the disabled list awaited him.
The opportunity, though, never came.
Not that Helton was complaining.
"Everything worked out fine," he said.
For the Rockies, it worked out fine.
