Claude Monet - the impressionist painter of majestic landscapes, simple haystacks, the Rouen Cathedral, and the delightful Giverny Japanese bridge - will paint a portrait of himself when he arrives in Hoffman Estates.
The Parisian-born Monet, who lived at Giverny, his picturesque estate in Normandy, and from which he painted the bridge, his series of water lilies and many other of his famous paintings, will come to Hoffman Estates in the person of Scott Shepherd.
Shepherd will present "Through the Eyes of Monet" at 1 p.m. May 20 at Eisenhower Junior High School, 800 Hassell Road.
